Costa Rica Vacation Rental Solla Sollew

Who Are These People?

When you live in a country other than your own, people like to know your story. "How did you end up living in Costa Rica? How long have you been here? Do you love it? And so on. Here is the short version.

Ben Vaughn

Ben was born and raised in Davis California, then spent 20 years in the Aspen Valley in Colorado before coming to Costa Rica with his family in 1999. He wanted to expose his children to another culture and language. Costa Rica is still their home base, and he is now Grampa to two 5 year olds. Years ago he started the popular Dominical.biz web site that serves as an online visitor's guide for this area. His real estate company, Guys In The Zone is focused on land and relocation services in the southern pacific zone. Ben also writes one of the oldest Costa Rica real estate blogs in Costa Rica.

Natalie Bridges

Natalie moved from Boston in 2004 in order to escape the rat race and live in a healthier environment, both physical & mental. She was single and in the position to make some big changes. She explored different areas of Costa Rica before making the fit in this area.

Natalie had been in real estate in Cambridge MA. and so was tenacious in finding the perfect property in Costa Rica. The problem down here though is that it's all beautiful. She wanted enough acreage for horses and dogs. She wanted the more dramatic southern coastline view. She wanted to be close to the mountains and the sea, for just the right climate. She wanted privacy without isolation from community. With Finca Solla Sollew, she got it all!

Natalie has cofounded the Tripod Foundation, a non-profit organization which raises money and sponsors spay & neuter clinics for street dogs and for those that don't have the resources necessary to spay or neuter their animals.

About the name

"I had trouble in getting to Solla Sollew" is a rather obscure, but great Dr. Seuss book about a little guy in search of a place where there aren't any troubles. The theme is appropriate for Costa Rica.

Nat's Comments

I have been constructing, working, and creating Finca Solla Sollew for the last 3 years, during which time Ben and I met and have been able to share this dream, and our lives together.

We've had lots of friends and family to work the kinks out on, and now we can enjoy sharing this experience with others.

Everyone that has visited has not wanted to leave. From 15 year old boys that said "dude, I want to live here!" to my Mom who always threatens to stay permanently! (You need to be careful when you create a paradise).

We've had stressed executives that were forced to relax. We have no T. V. We have hammocks and books and lounges, and games. We have a fireplace to enjoy during and after dinner, and of course, the pool is a treat anytime. We believe that taking a vacation and just relaxing is extremely underrated and almost necessary in these times.

We would be happy to arrange massages and meals for you here on site if you would like. We are also happy to arrange any activities that you may enjoy. Please have a look at the Activities Page and let us know.

We have a very special place here: the farm, the area, the community. We are excited about the prospect of sharing it with you and your friends and family. Whether you are here for a well deserved rest, a fun filled vacation, or on a personal retreat, we hope we can be a part of it here at Finca Solla Sollew.
